December News & Reads

Happy New Year! It's been a crazy ride this year. My life as a country album was published, won the Independent Author Network's YA Outstanding Book of the Year, and traveled the world with readers in India, Singapore, Japan, Brazil, Denmark, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

THANK YOU to all my new readers who have shared Cam and Jake's story with others. You have warmed my heart with your love of them and the words that brought them to life.

Even crazier is that there is now a whole series planned called the my life as an album series. The second novel, my life as a pop album, had its cover reveal in December, and is set for a release date of January 30, 2018.

I've made amazing connections in the independent author community over the last eight months. This community shows so many of the positive characteristics that we need more of in this world today, true support, caring, sharing, and no jealousy. We all win together. I've learned so much from all of you.

Because I focused on my writing a lot this year, my book reading tapered off, but I did end the year having read 84 books (over 28,000 pages). This isn't my highest or my lowest year, but it was a decrease from last year. Normally I can pick one or two books to be my top books of the year, but I had a really hard time narrowing it down, so I'm sharing my Top 8 of 2017 with you. They are by some of my favorite authors, but also two new authors that blew me away. Kelsey Kingsley and Karen M. McManus have a lot of offer our book world. If you get a chance to read any of these books, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Listed in no particular order:

180 Seconds by Jessica Park - New Adult Contemporary Romance

The Queen & The Cure by Amy Harmon - Fantasy

Dear Aaron by Mariana Zapata - Contemporary Military Slow Burn Romance

Wait For It by Mariana Zapata - Contemporary Slow Burn Romance

One of Us Is Lying by Karen M McManus - DEBUT - YA Mystery.

One Night to Fall by Kelsey Kingsley - Second Chance / Coming of Age Romance.

Turtles All the Way Down by John Green - YA - Fiction

The Magician's Diary by CJ Archer - The Glass & Steele - Paranormal Mystery Series.

I also read seven books in December that continued my independent author and established author pattern for the year. CJ Archer is always a win. She's pretty much joined my handful of one-click authors. Katy Ames After the Storm was an ARC and if you like hot, steamy, with a touch of suspense you will love this novel when it comes out in January just 12 days before my new novel.

As another way to say thank you to all of you for all your support, be on the look out for new Goodreads giveaways where you can win a signed copy of the original my life as a country album and the upcoming my life as a pop album.

As I wrap up this final newsletter for 2017, I can only say how blessed I feel to have been touched by all of you in my life as I started this adventure. Thank you for following me. Thank you for joining the my life as an album series journey. May your 2018 be full of health, happiness, and dreams come true.

Happy New Year
