Award-winning author, LJ Evans, lives in the Central Valley of California with her husband, daughter, and the terrors called cats. She's been writing, almost as a compulsion, since she was a little girl and will often pull the car over to write when a song lyric strikes her. A former 1st-grade teacher, she now spends her free time reading and writing, as well as binge-watching original shows like The Crown, A Discovery of Witches, Veronica Mars, and Stranger Things.
If you ask her the one thing she won’t do, it’s pretty much anything that involves dirt—sports, gardening, or otherwise. But she loves to write about all of those things, and her first published heroine was pretty much involved with dirt on a daily basis. Which is exactly why LJ loves fiction novels—the characters can be everything you’re not and still make their way into your heart.

Five Fun Facts About LJ
I was engaged to my husband after 3 months of dating.
And... we were married 10 months after that first, rain filled day together. Our friends took not-so-secret bets on how long we'd last. More than 25 years later, we beat all the odds.
I wanted to work inside the White House.
That was one of my early dreams. Instead I've worked as a crisis counselor, international relocation manager, benefits manager, and a teacher. Teaching kids is the BEST job I've ever had because....hello...I get to teach them to READ and WRITE which are things I love.
My first complete novel had me marrying John Schneider from the Dukes of Hazard.
That was fan fiction before fan fiction was actually a thing and before my anti-racism learning.
My sister and I once wrote & performed an entire soap opera on a cassette recorder... all the voices.
I understand this ages me beyond belief and puts me in line for multiple personality disorder. Still true.
I'm currently obsessed with the National Days.
I'm often chuckling or gaping in surprise at the National Days that have been approved in the U.S. Like "National Clean Your Room Day" which is great for parents, but hard to enforce. LOL. Come chat about them with me in my Facebook Group: LJ's Music & Stories.
