Romance Books with Summer Feels and Beach Vibes
If you're looking for the best summer romance books and beach reads to binge this year, look no further. June may be the official start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, but most of us start getting that itch for sand and sun and beach a month or so earlier. I bet a lot of you have already inhaled several summer-beachy-vibe books, right?
For many book influencers, the “beach vibe” book has to have a lighter feel… maybe a romcom or friends-to-lovers with a funny, cute meet and plenty of cocktails along the way. But I’m a bit different. I want my summer beach reads to still pack a significant emotional punch. I want to see and hear the ocean waves through the story’s descriptions, but also get the longing and ache of a beautiful sunset that scrolls across the page via the characters’ heartbreaking arcs.
The best summer beach reads, in my opinion, have the sweet smell of summer AND a hard hit of longing.
So, if you love romance that you can inhale with a cocktail but will sink its claws into your heart, these books belong on your summer reading list.

Beach Reads with High Stakes
I haven't written an entire series of summer books, but I do have three first-in-series novels that lead to other summer books. These three HEAs will have you smiling, longing, and crying as you picture yourself at the beach or the lake.
In fact, two of my most dedicated fans read My Life as a Country Album while THEY were on vacation, and ended up crying on the beach (or from a hotel room balcony) while their partners wondered what horrible thing had happened. So just be prepared to picture yourself at the lake but also ensure you have a box of tissue ready.

This is a coming-of-age, new-adult story with two kids, who are next-door neighbors, and spend all their summers side-by-side at the lake, daring each other into wild stunts… until the dares turn to kisses and kisses turn to heartache. My debut novel packs a punch, but will make you long for a bonfire with your best friend at your side.
Read: The Moments You
Were Mine

A friends-to-lovers story with a broody Navy SEAL and the cowgirl he swore never to make his. The book kicks off at the beach in San Diego, with surfing and bonfires, before moving on to lazy summer days at the ranch in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains. The best of all summer vacations combined, it has high stakes that will keep you on your toes and a single “dad” guardian just to up the trope ante.
Read: Guarded Dreams

Three military cadets agree to paint their professor’s beach house in exchange for free room for the summer (think “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset” by Luke Bryan). They never expect the professor’s runaway daughter to show up and turn their world on its head. After days spent engaging in wild taunts and teases that turn to heated kisses, Eli risks everything to help Ava escape her father’s reach. Summer nights at the beach never felt so poignant.

And if you enjoy Book One in any of these series, just know that the next book in each series also takes place during the summer. So, feel free to keep reading and extend your summer reading vibe a bit longer.

Why Readers Adore Summer Beach Reads
With a hint of vacation and a romance that lingers beyond the last fading days of summer, beach reads promise you pure escapism. These stories take us to places we may never visit ourselves, without breaking our pocketbook, and still allow us to rack up the memories. Plus, they give you hope that your summer fling might actually turn into your own personal love story.
Whether you’re tucked up for a staycation or thousands of miles in the air flying toward your own bit of paradise, pick one to keep you company.
